To Courtney: Love, (your name here)

The giveaway party is almost over. It is a sad day. I wish we could just giveaway forever. I love parties and this has been a doosy. I want to thank all the companies and businesses that have participated. They are lovely companies, support them, tell your friends about them. A very special thank you to Sarah Jane Studios for the beautiful invitation.  And... thank you for your support. 1. I love the way Courtney describes everyday life. I loved the post about "What are we doing to him?!" and the way she described her time at the park with the chief. I remember having similar feelings while waiting for my #2 to arrive. And I always remember, every single day, when I'm washing the dishes how she said the chief stands naked on water control in the mornings while she goes about her routine dish washing. I try to enjoy such little things about my children as though I'd had to really struggle to have them, even though they came as easy as can be. They're such a treasure! Thanks CJane!

  2. I really enjoyed the week several months ago where Courtney wrote a wonderfully descriptive story each day and then held a vote at the end of the week to have her readers determine which one was false. The stories were all laugh-out-loud funny. Some were awkward in an oh-my-gosh-that's-totally-happened-to-me kind of way. Thanks for sharing.

  3. It is hard for me to pick a favorite CJane post. I love how she writes about daily life, I love how she isn't afraid to talk about deeper issues that are important to her or are bothering her, I love how she is willing to consider other points of view. She seems to be an amazing woman that came from an amazing family, and I appreciate the glimpse she gives us into her life and the gift she gives us through her writing. Best wishes to Courtney and Chup and the Chief and the newest little one.

  4. I love CJane. She always has humor, style, wit, & reality mixed in. So many days when I worked for a hellish boss, I turned to her on my lunch break to get a glimpse of the real world & a sense that everything would be okay. And now, as I struggle to start a family, I find myself turning to her posts about trials with infertility. I'm sure everyone feels that, should Courtney know them, they would be insta-best friends, because that's how she is to her readers - relatable, real, & fun. CJane is my daily read, honestly. I am thankful to her for willingness to put it out there & share her life with us, for however long she chooses to. And I wish her & her family the best in the future. Thanks, Courtney, for all you do!

  5. What do I love about CJane? I love her wit, humor, honesty, detail, family, stories, pictures...the way she tells of days at the park, the way she writes about her family and the love they share, the ways in which she loves being a mom. I read her words and it makes me want to strive to be a better mom, a better sister, a better daughter, but knowing at the same time that my family will always be at my side no matter what.

  6. i cannot and will not pick a favorite cjane post. there are just way too many! i really and truly enjoy reading her blog. i think my favorite thing about reading courtney's blog is b/c i feel like i am there, listening to her talking, right in the gold living room! ha ha!!! i'm probably not the only one that feels like i know her personally, in real life! we have the same humour. i love it! she is real, funny, admirable, gorgeous, giving, gracious, kind, opinionated (in a great way), freakin' hilarious (had to say it again) and such a great role model of what it is to be a modern but traditional woman, wife and mother. thank you for writing from your heart, cjane. i will continue to read and feel inspired and laugh my head off. heaps of blessings to you and chup as you wait and welcome baby #2. this little babe is so lucky to join this amazing family!

  7. I think my favorite post was the recent one about repentance. I went through almost the exact same thing with my first husband and it was so comforting to know that I am not the only one. I love you CJane for having the courage to post about something so personal, it has added to my healing.
Congrats fof this second baby! I am expecting my second in a few months-here is hoping for girls! :)

  8. I love all of CJane's posts. She is witty and smart and strong and funny and sensitive. She is a good example to me of the kind of wife, sister, daughter, and mother I want to be. Plus she is way SPICY with great style! What's there not to love!

Congrats CJane on welcoming another member to your awesome family. She or he is very lucky!

  9. I love when I get to start a morning out with a CJane post. It always makes me feel hopeful and thoughtful- two things that can distract me from the downers of the day, and usually things that help me improve in some way or another. She has definitely found her calling in life, and I can only hope to one day make that kind of difference in the world. Thanks, Courtney!

  10. Congratulations Courtney! I do want to extend my warmest wishes to your whole family as you get ready to welcome a new life. I know I only echo others when I say that I've been impressed with how gracefully you've made the transition to celebrity. Sometimes I feel like blogs, in general, are just another way we find to entertain ourselves - but there is a realness to your posts that tends to stay with me. Thank you for standing apart and for all those little bits of light and sparkle you send out that make us, or at least me, want to be better.

All the best for your coming adventures in motherhood.

  11. As I said to my roommate one recent day, "I think that if CJane lived here in SF, we'd be friends." Just the right kind of sugar and spice. I've been reading her for years and every day I look forward to what she is going to talk about next. Just like a friend. Much love Courtney!

  12. I first found CJane's blog after her sister's crash, and it is know one of my daily reads. I enjoy reading her witty perspective. I love her post about Gyo Fujikawa. I love her illustrations too, and often have similar thoughts when I look at vintage illustrations. Congrats to you on baby # 2!

  13. she's witty, funny, refreshingly honest (in ways i aspire to). she puts her spirituality out there (a quality i admire). she's brave (for taking hits time and again when people mistake her self-deprication for self-righteousness). and i love that the sex of baby #2 will be a surprise!

(also, heather, how awesome of you for putting all this together! thank you!)

  14. Oh, Courtney, I love reading your posts every day. You're my blog home. Your blog is my blog hub. I have to check in and get a quick peek at my beloved Provo. I used to live there, seems like forever ago . . . but at least I can check and see what's going on there, and make sure someone's still enjoying it, even if I can't right now . . :o) I love the nicknames you use for your son and hubby . . . I love your gratitude, your zest for life, and that you love beauty, and that these traits shape the way that you relate to the world. I want to be like you, although I'm older . . . I admire your humility, and that you talk freely about things that are so central to who you are.
    Love,
    Cookie

  15. I love CJane. I cannot pinpoint one post as my favorite, but look forward to reading each new post. I really enjoyed the series of posts a few months back, where one was a "fake" and the rest were things that had really happened. They were hilarious, and so much fun to read. So I guess, that series has to be one of my favorites, but I know there are many more. Courtney, I love your honesty, and how you are not afraid to just be you. Congratulations on the impending arrival of your sweet baby, and continued blessings to you and your family.
    Vanessa :)

  16. I have to say that I found her blog after her sister had been in an accident. I was touched at what she was doing and I loved the fact that she was LDS too. I stopped reading for awhile, but I'm now back on the wagon! I enjoy every post and look forward to them. It's one of the bright points in my day! And like the e-mail that was written to her, I too am trying to be a little better. She is setting a good example! I wish her the best with her upcoming arrival! Hope all goes smoothly CJane!

  17. I didn't start reading until Stephanie's crash. But once I started, I couldn't get enough. Your wit, your style, your boldness are things that I want to emulate every day. When I read about how your husband is out of town, I feel sorry for you (I don't know how single moms do it) and when he's home, I'm glad. You two are perfect for each other--and the Chief fits right in perfectly. So will your new sweet baby. I can't wait to meet your new addition. Congratulations, and good luck! Thank you for sharing parts of yourself with us every day.

  18. I'm a fairly new reader of CJane, I'm not even sure how I came across your blog since I'm not really a blog reader. But all of a sudden, my day can't start unless I've read your blog! Every morning while my kids are eating breakfast, I'm reading cjane. I love your sense of humor and your grace while under fire. I am one of those people who, while at BYU, wondered if any real people lived in Provo! It is wonderful to see the city through your eyes. It makes me nostalgic for my years there. And I never thought I would feel that way! When I am passing through this summer I will be sorely tempted to try and find Retro House! Best wishes to you and your family as you welcome your newest member. Lots of love and well wishes coming your way from Pennsylvania!

  20. I want Courtney to know what a wonderful woman I think she is. I tell my husband often that I need to go to Utah so that we can be friends. Thank you for being a positive reminder to enjoy life, while in then despair of 8 years of infertility, I look forward to reading you, seeing that blessings do come. You are the first thing I read in the morning, and are a wonderful start to my day. Thank you for being a beautiful example of love, and thoughtfulness. The world needs more people like you! Congrats on your new arrival!

  21. Congratulations to you and your family, Courtney. I came across your blog after seeing what had happened to your Nie & her family and just haven't been able to leave you alone! You're an awesome woman and I adore your posts - no matter how controversial they sometimes are, haha. I even find myself laughing at your not-so-funny jokes. ;) I'm so, so happy for you and your family and wish you the very best. Hugs & kisses from Las Vegas.

  24. Dear Courtney, I wish I knew you in real life because I imagine we could be friends. I think that says a lot about the honesty and open-heartedness of your writing, and of your spirit.

My favorite post, so far, has been the one about seasons. It was beautiful.

    Congratulations and love to you.

  25. Dearest Courtney
I feel like you are my own internet best friend. The day one of my real life friends introduced me to your blog was pretty much life-altering. I'm sure you write just for me. As I was embarking on my first steps of parenting, so were you, and not just with your own child, but with your sisters'. I was and still am in awe of your courage and strength through the everyday load of motherhood. You cannot imagine how many times I've laughed out loud only to have my hubby think I'm crazy- especially when I was watching your Christmas video post- hilarious, but he didn't get it?! I dunno how he couldn't. Anyways, you bring joy and reprieve to my everyday, and while I sit at my computer connecting to you, my crazy girl runs about wreaking havoc and chaos, but I don't mind anymore! Thanks for teaching me to enjoy it all! I honestly will try my hardest to be at all your favorite eateries next time I'm in Provo, I think we could enjoy a meal together :) Good luck with #2- I am 5mths in and it's wonderful!

  26. Courtney,

Best wishes for a good delivery! It has been fun sharing the journey of pregnancy with you, the ups and downs, joys and frustrations. I now have a sweet slumbering newborn in my lap as I type and wish you the same peace and joy with your new one as I feel now. I can't choose a favorite post, but love how I am reminded of just how blessed I am to be a mother and wife and daughter of God after reading your blog. Keep writing and sharing.

  27. I love Cjane's blog. It makes me smile, laugh, think, cry, and strive to be better (it also makes me hungry and crave different foods a lot of the time...). I don't know if I can think of a favorite written post off the top of my head (I loved the one where she explains to Claire that Heavenly Father was saving The Chief for her, I loved her true/false stories, I loved her post about man's help-meet, I loved the early ones about infertility and faith, I loved her recent one about wondering what she was doing to the Chief, it goes on...), but my favorite video post is the one where she sings "Let it Snow" and busts into "Alone". It's great stuff. I love that she did a dance for the Chief's first birthday. I would totally do that if I could get a big enough audience, but I dance for my daughters every day and no one else seems to care... :)

Anyway, thanks Cjane for all of your posts (I'm sure sometimes you'd rather do things other than post, but we appreciate them) and good luck with baby #2! That baby is lucky to go to your family.

  28. I'm going to be honest. I started out as a NieNie fan.
    (There. I said it.)
Time went by. I'd read Nie's blog and think, "She is so lovely and perfect and precious...I wish I was more like Nie." Then I would zip over to CJane's blog, and laugh until Diet Sprite came out of my nose. And it was always in that order that I'd check blogs. Nie first. Then CJane.
As time has gone by, and I've grown up, and Nie is Nie and CJane is Cjane and eggs become chickens and so on, I love reading Nie just as much as I ever have. She is beautiful and precious and endearing and I wish I was more like her.
But Cjane? Well, I always check her blog first.
Thanks, Courtney, for the gifts of insight, laughter, and barenaked honesty that you bless us with in your blog. Thank you for taking care of Nie as all of her faithful and loving readers would do if we could. Thank you for being true to yourself. I'm a better person for reading your blog, and that is the truth.
