Because He Loves Me...

...He is willing to scoop the guts out of my pumpkin, and the kid's pumpkins too.

Don't tell my kids, but carving pumpkins is not my favorite thing to do. Why? I can't stand scooping out the  insides. Thanks to a kind husband who is willing to do the dirty work.

Look at all of that. Yuck.

 The finished products.

Anyone else okay skipping the carving?

  1. We have 12 pumpkins carved and lining our driveway. My husband is the master carver at our house but not so fond of the scooping. I actually don't mind at all as long as I can pop in my headphones and wear rubber gloves. There are so many duties that husbands and wives share that it's nice when one makes light of the other's chore.

  2. I hate the whole pumpkin carving thing. Never liked it. So I'm glad dh does it. So I'm not sure what possessed me to volunteer to help my dd class with carving pumpkins? But it actually wasn't that bad. So maybe I'm growing up a bit and can actually help carve the family ones next year?

  3. I HATE IT. It smells and feels disgusting. If husband scoops out the guts, I'm willing to cut, but that's it. I hear a drill works better than a knife, I'll try that next year.

  4. It is refreshing to know I am not the only one who doesn't love the pumpkin thing.

  6. Emily, I am with you, I can carve, but not scoop.

  7. Andrea, I am still waiting for the day I " grow up" when it comes to Halloween. I know I could scoop out the guts, if it was life or death, but I still really don't want to. I might just stay "immature" in this area forever.
